Assisting students in developing skills that can be used for a lifetime.

As a music teacher, both in private lessons and classroom settings, I desire to learn with my students as we seek to develop perseverance, diligence, and integrity through the avenue of music. My education at BJU as well as my practicum and student teaching experiences in Greenville county have prepared me to teach both elementary and secondary general music and chorus classes. I enjoy not just teaching my students, but learning with them and walking through the concepts together. Learning music prepares students not just to be a musician, but to be a disciplined, well-rounded individual.

For the past 3 years, I have had the opportunity to teach 30 classes each week ranging in age fom Pre-K through 5th grade. I have an afterschool 2nd and 3rd grade junior chorus as well as an after school 4th and 5th grade chorus. Both groups meet once per week. We participate in local festivals and have had the opportunity to perform at Carowinds Festival of Music where we received a score of Excellent in 2023. We will be returning in the spring of 2024. I have also had the opportunity to be the site administrator for the Greenville County Schools Elementary Honor Choir. This year, I will be one of the 2 area directors for my site at the district honor choir. I serve as the secretary for the elementary division of SCMEA, and I ma on the planning committee for the state honor choir this year. 

In my spare time, I sing with the Rivertree Singers, located in Greenville, SC under the direction of Dr. Warren Cook. I also greatly enjoy spending time with my friends and family. Currently, I am in graduate school at Clemson University, studying Educational Leadership.
